CLASS SCHEDULE July - September 2008

Beginning Quilting— Learn the
basics of quilting from choosing
fabric to putting it all together,
using the Checkerboard Square
pattern. A 6 session class, Dea
will be teaching two sessions a
day, one morning and one
afternoon. Bring a lunch.
Dates: Saturdays, July 12,
August 9, & September 13
Time: 9am—3:30 pm

Cost: $100 plus supplies
Art To Heart Workshop—Join us
in the classroom to work on your
Art to Heart projects. We will have
a teacher there to help you if you
need. There will be kits available
for purchase from their newest
book, 12 Days of Christmas,
however you may work from any of
their books or patterns. Bring
your supplies and join in the fun!
There is no charge.

Time: 10am—4 pm
Cost: No charge, just supplies
Mother Earth’s ABC Book—
You will use this delightful little
companion book to the award
winning Mother Earth’s Children
quilt to create a beautiful
appliquéd monogram. Used in a
quilt, on a jacket, or as a framed
piece of art, this would make a
wonderful personalized Christmas
gift. This is a 2 session class.

Hand Applique, The Sequel-
This class is for those that have
learned the basics of hand
appliqué, points, convex and
concave curves, and wish to
take their appliqué to the next
level. One focus in this class
will be how to appliqué bias
strips. In this class you will
appliqué an actual design that
will include bias strips. This
class is offered 3 separate times.

Saturday, September 27
Time: 10am—1pm

kit will be available for
purchase)
Beginning Quilting— Learn the
basics of quilting from rotary cutting
to putting together the whole top.
Candace will demonstrate the
techniques for you to go home and
do on your own. This is a 6 session
class.
Dates: Tuesday, July 29, August
12 & 26, Sept. 9 & 23, October 7
Time: 7—9 pm

Cost: $65 plus supplies
Beginning Hand Applique—
Learn three methods of hand
appliqué in this one session class
offered at 2 different times. Maria
will teach 2 methods of needle turn
with the blind stitch (freezer paper
on top and freezer paper on
bottom), as well as fusible with a
buttonhole stitch. You will get
practice with points, convex and
concave curves, and stems. This
class is offered at two separate
times.

T-Shirt Memories-—
Learn to make one of today’s more
popular quilts. Take those t-shirts
you just can’t part with and turn
them into a fun quilt so you can
continue to enjoy them and the
memories they bring.

All Stars T-Shirt Memory Quilt -
This T-shirt quilt is a great way to
make use of that T-shirt collection.
From their book, You Did What??
With My T-Shirts!, this quilt is
designed by Judy Bobbitt and Katie
Reed. Dea will teach you all the
tricks that make this a fun and easy
quilt. This is a 2 session class.

Binding— Bindings are the most
common problem people have with
their quilts. Learn how to finish
your quilt with a professional
binding. Learn how to miter
corners, do bias bindings, and how
to join your binding.

30-4:30 pm

Beginning Machine Quilting—
Have you wanted to finish some of
your tops? Perhaps you want to
perfect your quilting techniques.
This class will teach you the basics
of machine quilting including how
to use the walking foot and how to
free motion quilt.
Date: Monday, August 11
Time: 2—5 pm

*Scrappy Kalaidoscope— Help
us raise funds for Leukemia &
Lymphoma while enjoying quilting
with your friends. Lois Smith will
teach you how to do a scrappy
kalaidoscope quilt called Visions
of Provence from M’Liss Rae
Hawley’s book Scrappy Quilts.
Full kits will be available for
purchase. If you wish to use your
own fabrics we will also have scrap
bags available for purchase if you
want to supplement what you
have. A lunch will be provided
and door prizes will be awarded.
Proceeds will go to the Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society’s Team in
Training. Come out and have fun
while helping those in need.
